Tiger’s teenage son, Charlie Woods, missed out on qualifying for the U.S.
Junior Amateur. Charlie Woods, the son of 15-time Grand Slam champion Tiger Woods, shot 10-over 80 on Tuesday but missed out on qualifying for the U.S. Junior Amateur.
After starting with an 82 on Monday, Young Woods finished with a birdie, four bogeys, two double bogeys and one triple for 22-under 162 over 36 holes at Oakland Hills Country Club outside Detroit. He finished last out of 264 golfers and 18 strokes behind the pace of the 64 players who qualified for match play. Tiger Woods walked the course to look after his son, but was not allowed to caddy for Charlie due to tournament rules.
The winner of Saturday’s 36-hole final will advance to the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont. Tiger Woods won the U.S. Junior Amateur in 1991, 1992 and 1993. The only player to win the tournament multiple times was Jordan Spieth in 2009 and 2011. The older and younger Woods have played together in the PNC Championship the past four years, finishing as runners-up in the 2021 father-son tournament.
